BTPBL FAQ

Q: What is the Bigtime Pack Battle League?

A: The Bigtime Pack Battle League (BTPBL) is the first community-based Pokémon pack battle league founded on December 1st, 2016 by Pokeking. The main mission of BTPBL is to give smaller Pokétubers the opportunity to participate in a pack battle league and also grow throughout the process.

Q: What are the rules for the league?

A: Since the league is community-based, all participants of the current season must be subscribed to each other. Only 3-Pack Blisters can be used for each of the rounds unless otherwise notified. All seasons of BTPBL are single-elimination tournaments. Each season will incorporate a specific theme which may include additional rules and guidelines.

Q: How does the point system work?

A: The point system below is applied to all seasons by default. Some seasons and rounds may also include Competitive Picks.
1 Point - Reverse Rare
2 Points - Holo Rare, Evolutions Secret Rare
3 Points - GX, EX, or BREAK
4 Points - Full Art
5 Points - Secret Rare

Q: What are Competitive Picks?

A: A Competitive Pick is a specific card from a set that a participant predicts will be pulled in their video. This specific card must either be shown or stated prior to opening the packs. Additional points are provided to their score if pulled with the default system below, and multiple copies count including reverse foils.
1 Point - Common
2 Points - Uncommon, Evolutions Secret Rare
3 Points - Normal Rare
4 Points - Holo Rare
5 Points - GX, EX, BREAK

7 Points - Standard Secret Rare

Q: What happens if there is a tie?

A: In the event of a tie, a single-blister tiebreaker will take place no more than a week after the initial battle. If a tie happens again, whoever pulled the highest valued cards in both the first match and tiebreaker wins.

Q: How do I join?

A: Tentative applicants are on a first-come, first-serve basis and the process varies per season. The commissioners of the league will notify when and how to join an upcoming season of the league.

Q: Who are the commissioners and how can I contact them?

A: The current commissioners of the Bigtime Pack Battle League are Pokeking and Instinct who can be reached through the social media links below.
